Imaginative and impeccable design is at the heart of Roome London furniture. Carefully curated fabric patterns, exquisite hand embroidery and striking furniture shapes are the hall marks of our business. Constantly evolving to meet the needs of our clients in the UK and overseas, we are delighted to work with passionate and experienced global artisans to ensure that every piece of furniture we design is exceptionally crafted.
Every piece in our collection begins in our London studio where shapes are meticulously drawn. We take pride in making every piece to order, using distinctive patterns and hand embroidery from leading designers and artists. Consideration is given to every component and part of the design journey with the aim of reducing waste and choosing materials and processes which respect the environment. For example, we only use FSC-regulated timber, ensuring that every time a tree is felled, one is planted in its place.
For its natural flames and character, we use crown-cut ash for our studio collection which is lacquered to enhance the beauty of its grain but we can source any materials required for custom and made to measure projects. Every material we choose is unique and acts in striking contrast to the textile elements of each design. Textiles can be selected from our library and sourced externally , and the hand embroidered pieces and hand painted leathers can be as one-of-a-kind as required.
Every textile we use is individually designed for each furniture shape and expertly positioned to ensure meticulous alignment and symmetry on every piece. Individual components of the furniture are crafted using solid brass and aluminium for the bespoke handles, door frames and legs.
During the production of the cabinetry, the printed textiles are digitally printed in England onto a lustrous silk-cotton blend fabric, prized in haute-couture circles for its vibrancy and depth of colour. The hand embroidery is expertly hand crafted in Mumbai with Geraldine Larkin’s team and the hand painted leather one-of-a-kind pieces are created in England by Marrikur Studio.
The textiles and leather elements are fine upholstered within bespoke and luxurious frames which showcase them beautifully.
All of our furniture can be customised and made to measure to meet the requirements of our clients. The upholstered elements can be refreshed over time to blend with a new interior scheme, adding to the longevity and sustainability of the piece.
When the construction of each piece of furniture has been approved, it is then shipped to anywhere in the world, travelling by air in specially-designed crates to ensure that we deliver a perfect piece of beautiful furniture to you.
