Amy Molyneaux

AMY MOLYNEAUX is an established fashion designer, who was responsible for the creative direction of iconic 90s fashion label PPQ and the design of Fred Perry, Amy Winehouse, Adidas and Peaches, to name a few. She is now Creative Director at Lelloue, a luxury resort brand. Known for her bold prints and retro references to the Swinging Sixties and the underground cool of her native London, Amy is the master at combining her influences and inspiration, creating vibrant and colourful collections.
“Print for me is a narrative for life, I relate certain patterns to key times in my life; anything from patterns my mother wore to curtains I would play next to in my grandmother’s house. More often than not it is nostalgic, comforting or like a perfume, they evoke exciting times, such as my first party dress, to make an accessible journey.”
Print is the focus in her design work and her portfolio features a captivating array of prints depending on season. Amy’s inspiration behind the creative process comes from the everyday.
“I like the natural process of finding inspiration, I never take it for granted. Even though I travel a lot, my trips across the world are not intentionally for inspiration purposes.”
With husband Tomas Baleztena, a fine artist known for his stunning work with oil on canvas, the talented duo has created a beautiful portfolio of floral prints inspired by Northern Spain, including the Navarra print which captures the colour and light of the Mediterranean beautifully.
“I was living in Spain and the whole new landscape and love for the sunshine inspired me to make this rich rural theme. Tomas hand-painted all the flowers and arranged the print by hand.”
